Err! I've never really sorted out the cconcept of contexts. I've just
copied them when they looked OK Then fiddled.
I've got the immediate problem solved thanks to you both & I am now
trying to research cotenxts in a more formal way.
Many thanks

Hello all,
Having trouble finding how to silence chordNames while not silencing
the rest of the arrangement. I would have thought it wa easy but can't
spot it. Can someone point me at it.
Many thanks Steve

I attach a short script together with the rejection notice. I feel
confident I shall feel foolish when I recieve a reply but what am I
doing wrong here?
The version number is correct. & the same as my previous work.
I can see no problem with the script as far as it's gone & neither,
I cannot understand why anybody uses html (except their software point
them at it) I decided 20 years ago when word processors were coming in
with various formats that I would always use plain text unless there
was a strong reason not to because:-
1) it took less storage
2) it travelled faster
3)
It may or may not be relevant but I find if I do what have you done I
can get it change to sample to a guitar sound. However it doesn't
sound like a guitar to me unless I sort out the chord voicing to a
guitar inversion as well. This is quite a bit of work so I usually
silence the chord names so

This should work:

Is it possible to reduce the chordmode volume while keeping it in
displaying the chords in the PDF?
Failing which is it possible to maintain the PDF output while
silencing the midi output and/of change the instrument. Piano stops me
listening constructively.

Hello list people,
I have started writing bass line chord charts to assist in the
integration of a new bass player. I would like to make a good job of
it because if it works well I will build it into a band library.
It is normal in my (jazz) market to use % in a bar to mean repeat
previous bar
Surely if it's his solo it is up to him/her how he wishes to interpret
it. His interpretation can change ( should change) if his mood
changes.

I have a situation I feel there should be an answer to but cannot find it. I
write arrangements which start with, say, 8 bars intro during which , again
say, up to 4 front line instruments are doing nothing. I either want to
suppress their staffs during the intro or not create them till the end

I have been using the excellent jazzcombo template by Amelie Zapf, I
am now doing my third fake sheet. So far just a bass staff chords
annotations above it. The first two, all the examples in the
manuals, put the chords above the staff, where I want them. My third,
which I am working on now,

Hello all,
New to this group so I hope I get it rightish.
I have done a choir arrangement (in Rosegarden) exported to lilypond. this
has worked fine after a bit of work. I now want to condense this into a piano
part with trb bs clefs. I have been adapting it using the parallelMusic
method
