1-I want to make barlines somewhat thinner,
\override Barline #'thickness = #3.0 (and other values, put inside a layout
block) didn't worked..
2-I want to have another look for the dashed barline:
\bar :
I'd rather prefer a slimmer looking dashed line

try Staff.BarLine (note the capital L)
