Hi there! Is this group where I can get help to get Lilypond up and running? I installed LP, opened it and got to the 'Welcome to LilyPond' screen. I followed the instructions and created a copy of the file on the desktop and dragged the file onto the LilyPond icon but no pdf file got created

I downloaded everything according to the website instruction. When I double-click on test.ly, there is a message saying Windows cannot open this file. There is no test.log with the test.ly. I have downloaded this twice. Any advice? I think this program is a great idea, and am anxious to get it

Did you get a Cygwin icon or entry in the Program menu. Double click on that to start a command window. Enter the command: lilypond If it answers something like Command not found, you have not managed to install the package. Just rerun setup.exe again and make sure that the line with the Lilypond

Have you installed any fink packages before? fink requires that you have previously installed the software from the Developer's CD. The ar utility (create and maintain library archives) probably comes from this CD. I am not 100% positive though, since I still run OS-X 10.1.5 A better forum
