based on the snippet Cross-staff arpeggio brackets in the LSR I found a nice way to mis-use arpeggios as barre indicators hilites: - you don't even need chords for the arpeggio and - you can combine notes/chords with different durations! arpeggioAsBarre = \once \override Staff.Arpeggio
