I have found that page-turn-breaking does not do all that I need. When there
are many movements not all the page turns are
convenient. When using two-sided there are times when I would like to
insert a blank page between movements to reduce page turns
to a minimum.
So far all attempts to insert

I have some questions about generating blank pages.
Given an input file consisting of:
\paper { } \header {} \score { \markup \null }
The error log shows:
GNU LilyPond 2.13.23
Processing `test.ly'
Parsing...
test.ly:1:32: error: syntax error, unexpected \markup
\paper { } \header { } \score
I'm wondering how I can force lilypond to have blank pages. I see the
blank-page-force, but I don't understand how to get it. For example:
\paper {
blank-page-force = ##t
}
\markup { page one }
\pageBreak
\pageBreak
\markup { page four
Ha, I found a solution, empty markups:
\markup { page one }
\pageBreak
\markup {}
\pageBreak
\markup {}
\pageBreak
\markup { page four }

Hi James,

As per a suggestion by someone (Nicholas?) a while ago, perhaps you
should use
\markup \null
instead?
Cheers,
Kieren.

Steven,
you can use \cadenzaOn \cadenzaOff. Bar counting is suppressed during a
cadenza.

I'm using Lilypond 2.8.4 on Windows XP.
I'm trying to optimize page turns in a double-sided printing scenario, and
need to add blank pages in the PDF at appropriate locations. Is it possible
to add a completely blank page (or a page that says This page intentionally
left blank) in Lilypond
