I hesitate to call this a bug, as I'm not sure if
there's some reason that this functionality is intended.
Example 1:
\set fingeringOrientations = #'(left)
a-1 b-2 c-3 d-4
The fingering is printed above the notes, no matter
what fingeringOrientations is set to.
Example 2:
\set fingeringOrientations = #'(left)
<a-1> <b-2> <c-3>
<d-4>
The fingering correctly goes where
fingeringOrientations is set to.
