How do you create lyrics for brief alternative notes, existing in repeated
sections (when there are not enough notes to justify duplicating the entire

I responded to this last night, although I suppose it's possible my
response didn't answer all of your questions. Check the archives if

Isn't there a D.S. al Coda feature in Lilypond?
No, you put in the symbols where you want them, and the performers
interpret them.

You are using it as a \mark and it is now attached to the next bar line.
You could try: r2 ^\markup D.S..
Why isn't the second coda sign

If I have understood correctly, for Lilypond the D.S. and codas are
just text and you cannot loop music i.e. MIDI with them. They are

Hi,
I want to add lyrics to a song with a repeat in it. So part one of the
song is repeated ones and I want to add lyrics on both parts.
Here's my score, with lyrics only for the first part yet...
global = {
\key f \major
\tempo 4=76
\time 4/4
}
chordNames = \chordmode {

To add more lines of lyrics easily add another \addlyrics { ... }
after the first.
It doesn´t matter if there´s a repeat in the notes - LilyPond typesets
the lyrics as you see them on the paper.
Hope this helps
