What LilyPond version do you use?
Are you sure it's an ordinary 'u' that fails and not any ú or whatever?
Sounds very strange to me.
If you wish, you could send some small example PDF file as an attachment
to the mailing list (or even better, put it on some web server), otherwise
it's hard to say
I really hope that you remembered to run the command from a Cygwin
window and
not from a Windows command prompt.
Also, the easiest way to process a .ly file if you run in Windows is
simply to double click
on the file.

Hello,
is there any chance that there will be a Completion_rests_engraver by

Hi Mats,
Thanks a lot for your help. I've now managed to create two songs without
problems, but for two other pieces I have deeper needs and I'm still running
into problems that I haven't yet been able to solve.

Btw. I use Emacs as supplied within fptex (windows). Is it OK to
continue or do I have to install emacs under cygwin also?
Best wishes

I think this is related to a new tetex problem discovered yesterday. Run
setup.exe and put back the previous version. (It should be automatical,
because it has been removed from the distribution.)

Actually, the chances are quite good. Maybe some of the core
developers will find some extra time, and implement it gratuitously.
Maybe they won't, but as LilyPond is Free Software,

I think I followed the instructions in
http://lilypond.org/web/install/windows.html correctly, but Lilypond
outputs an empty pdf.
For installation I used the Download Without Installing option, and
then ran Setup again and used the Install from Local Directory option.
