I did folow the procedure outlined by Bertalan Fodor in vol 35 issue 56.
When loading the lilytool 0.2.8-6 all I get is an Error message:
Cannot start: java.lang. Unsuported ClassVersionError,

have just upgraded to 2.7.14 from 2.6.31 (Mac version).
I now get the rather drammatic error message
programming error: Grob direction requested while calculation in progress.
the output looks fine so I am wondering if this is a debug statement
in the development version ?

You need Java 5.0 (aka 1.5) for this version (and now on). I know this
is sad for Mac users, but I would not have had enough motivation to
work on LilyPondTool if I must stay with 1.4

I need a few figures for my thesis and the pdf output of lilypond on mac
os x is pretty nifty. Except I can't coax it into just giving me a pdf
of the music itself. I always get empty space as if it were trying to

Why not writing your complete thesis in Tex ?
I used LyX as an editor and that worked as a dream...

I've fiddled with this for an hour and copied it first directly from the
manual (typed it in) then took and copied some from something I made
work and then even edited that and I still have these double time
signatures-
So something is wrong with the manual or I'm really missing
I run LilyPond 2.6 on Windows 2000.
By using the characters from the keyboard for the german umlaut (ä, ö, ü) or
french accent (é, è) there are no printed signs in the pdf-output and the
following character is also ignored.
With Lilypond 2.4 and Cygwin on the same OS there is no such mistake.

aware editor, eg, any reasonably modern emacs, jedit or vim.
