Just updated to 2.19.50 and now the cache directory has to be deleted after each reboot! So it seem like it got worse... How do Lilypond decide if the cache should be built or not? // Anders ___ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user

It's not a big deal if you know it! Because it's a very annoying issue and it makes a very bad impression it would be nice if it was mentioned somewhere where you donwload the application. I think it probably affects all versions of Windows. I'm still on good old-fashioned Vista and it bit me. But the solution seems to be to simply delete the cache, prompting a rebuild, so it's not a big deal for most of us. I suspect it's because few (or perhaps no) developers are using Windows 10. That makes it very hard to troubleshoot. Ciao Andrew, you wrote: > Where are we at with the font caching issue on Windows 10? Anyway, I did the same thing as you, I emptied the font cache directory and I do it again each time I experience the issue again (after installing denemo for example). This fix the slowdown. g. ___ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
Font cache issues on Windows 10
Where are we at with the font caching issue on Windows 10? There does not appear to be much discussion on the bug list presently, but I certainly experience the slow down. After being advised to remove the font cache directory, things speed up after that, when using Frescobaldi. But now I am trying to list the available fonts for lilypond from the command line and it rebuilds the font cache for every command, at version 2.19.49, as shown by running the log level at debug.
