My Mom always talks about skating on Long Pond and then over at Valley Pond. My daughter doesn’t believe anyone ever skated on Long Pond as the landscape has evolved so much. Nowadays I love the new tradition of the community ice rink at Pierce House. -Heather Heather Ring pronouns:

Back in the day, a word would go out and folks would convene at Valley Pond, with food and libations. Bonfires were lit, chairs set up and some would actually venture onto the ice for a spirited, intergenerational game of ice hockey. Others would tentatively make their way around the ice. A
