midi is your friend here. There are a some Xtras in director which enable you to take
an analyze midi input. Midi is good enough to handle most what you throw at it as it
has tons of parameters and you can send (127 note messages, 127 continuous
controllers, 16 channels and some stuff here and t
it's all possible :D... except autorun on mac OSX. Do a search around the list, as
there is quite a good article on it somewhere..
basically it boils down to burning a 'custom hybrid' disc (how toast on the mac calls
it). Where you can define the mac partition and the PC partition and ANY data s
out of the blue idea.. why not use midi.. I don't know wheter there is currentlly an
Xtra that can handle MTC (Midi Time Code) and MMC (Midi Machine Code). But they should
enable you to sync 2 or more computers up tightly enough.
In theory, you could use midi clock to sync the 2 or more compute
The only option I am aware of involves quicktime and the soerensen 3 compressor which
can embed a 'media key' in the video, and without that key the video cannot be played
back. So this wouldn't stop them from copying the video but it would stop them from
viewing it outside your application.

same here.. with some thinking and tweeking you can do a wide variety of IL effects
which are fast enough to use in realtime. Some very good examples on copypixel effect
to be found at the lingo workshop:

I use the same methodology on some occasions (Xtras>PC) and it seems to work all right
here as well.

What are you exactly trying to do? some things can better be done with copypixels and
some other creative use of imaging lingo features. Get and set pixel is very slow.
Caching the image objects will speed things up, but not to such an extend that it will
enable you to do things realtime.

had this as well. Simple sollution (didn't tried it on OSX as I do most developing on

when you keep the 'c' key pressed, the dialogs fly by and you gop through a few

take a look at the inspector when you click on the stage, in the tab 'Display

have you followed all guidelines to make a fast start projector on the MM technotes?
My guess is, although you've excluded the xtras, you didn't excluded the runtime.
1. don't include xtras, instead put them into an xtras folder on the same level as
your projector. (in mx2004 you can tick the ex

I have noticed the same issue on my system (and on a few others around the office). I
think 'wild guess' that it has to do with the installed media player (and it's codec
which is being used) as I get the same colors when playing it back from within windows

I imported several hunderds of images yesterday at once. No problems whatsoever. A few
thing though..
1. Make sure you have enough ram to do this.
2. Make sure your cast you import it in has enough empty members.
should work then..

you won't get the same result as photoshop off course, which uses quite some mth to
distort images so then end up nicely.. imaging lingo and the quad functions are rather
designed to be fast so you could use it in realtime.
However.. you 'could' try to map the image to a plane and use shockwave3

Onderwerp: Check the screen resolution
Hello!
How can I check the screen resolution for a PC and
drop in some decent midi support (multiple midi outs/in support, midi
events in/out, midi player)
make it OSX and win ...
(well would get it without midi as well..) and I'm your man.. seems like
it would be everything that's needed.. (maybe ASIO and VST support, or
AU on the mac... hmmm..)

I don't know what causes it, but normally director only redraws the
parts of the screen that actually change, not the whole screen. the
line: the stagecolor = the stagecolor probably forces a total screen
redraw fixing stuck 'images'..
