Re: [Linphone-users] Calling linphone out of kaddressbook

2021-03-26 Thread Rainer Dorsch via Linphone-users
Thanks Peio,

Indeed I use this since a while, see

https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/linphone-users/2021-02/msg00051.html

and it works well.

I have not found a solution yet for the name lookup:
Use kaddressbook or akonadi to a translation from phone number into name for
incoming calls

Rainer

Re: [Linphone-users] Calling linphone out of kaddressbook

2021-03-26 Thread Peio Rigaux
Hello.

According to the --cli-help option output of the latest Linphone-desktop
version, the syntax to call a number is now the following :

[linphone executable] "call sip-address=sip:[username]@[domain]"

I never used kaddressbook before but I hope that my answer will be
useful to you.

Re: [Linphone-users] Calling linphone out of kaddressbook

2021-02-28 Thread Rainer Dorsch via Linphone-users
Nice, that it works also out of firefox (after it works now out of kaddressbook
for me). I will try that.

But I am after another problem right now:
- When receiving a call, linphone should display caller name instead of caller
number (or both).
- Importing an addressbook to linphone would probably work, but I need to do
that again and again
- I think it would be useful if linphone would have an interface query a
database (e.g. LDAP server) to find a phone number -> name mapping. If linphone
would provide that, I would check how I can get this mapping from akonadi or
kaddressbook.

Thanks
Rainer

Re: [Linphone-users] Calling linphone out of kaddressbook

2021-02-27 Thread Maciej Morycinski

Not the desktop version afaik.

You could use a html file with tel: / sip: links.

Myself, I find Thunderbird with Cardbook fits the bill, plus my script.

Communication protocols (sip, tel, and callto) have to be set in
preferences for
Thunderbird and Firefox, to point to my script file. Then I can just
click on the
telephone link either in a webpage, or in an email message, and Linphone
connects.
Then Cardbook will also display phone numbers as sip: links, as long as
SIP is set

in its Preferences > Communicate > Phone button.

Overall, I works very well for me.

linphone "call sip-address=sip:%N@192.168.0.1"

Does linphone provide an interface to query an addressbook?

linphone "call sip-address=sip:%N@192.168.0.1"

Does linphone provide an interface to query an addressbook?

Re: [Linphone-users] Calling linphone out of kaddressbook

2021-02-27 Thread Maciej Morycinski

Rainer,

The correct command line for calling is:

|linphone "call sip-address=555-1212"|
|linphone "call sip-address=sip:m...@iptel.org"|

|linphone --help| or |linphone --cli-help| will give you more details.

If you want other software to send correct commands, I recommend writing
a suitable script to translate the output.
An example is in this forum's archive

Feel free to use as is, or modify to your needs.

Hi ael,

thanks for your quick reply. My problem seems to be different though, i can
initiate and receive calls through the GUI (I think I have not taken one, but
at least it rings). My problem is rather the opposite, in linphone 3 I could
initiate a call in a linphone instance from the command line (no matter if
there was a running linphone instance or not before). In linphone 4 I do at
least not know how that works.

[Linphone-users] Calling linphone out of kaddressbook

2021-02-17 Thread Rainer Dorsch via Linphone-users
Hi,

I used to call linphone out of kaddressbook using

linphone --call %N

After the upgrade to Debian bullseye which corresponds to a linphone upgrade
from 3.12.0 to 4.4.21 this does not work anymore.

After inspecting the man page, I tried

rd@h370:~$ linphone call +4917235965xx
[17:49:09:681][0x558417f0c220][Info]app/App.cpp:212: "Starting Linphone (bin:
linphone)"
[17:49:09:681][0x558417f0c220][Info]app/App.cpp:213: "Use locale: de_DE"
[17:49:09:682][0x558417f0c220][Info]:0: "Running secondary app success. Kill
it now."
[17:49:09:682][0x558417f0c220][Info]app/App.cpp:217: "Destroying app..."
rd@h370:~$

Even if I stop the running instance, it does not work.

Any hint or idea how to make kaddressbook working with linphone 4 is welcome.

Thanks
Rainer
