Well, you've exhausted my knowledge. I didn't have any problems move to SP3 on
bunches of servers, but I didn't do it with smt but with a yup server instead.
If it worked for you on 3 but not the 4th I'd say time to open an SR with
Novell since it your service/catalog is problably ok.

Did you make sure that SMT has mirrored all the contents for SP3 successfully?
Check the contents of
/srv/www/htdocs/repo/$RCE/SLES10-SP3-Updates/sles-10-s390x/ . It should have
both a repodata and rpm sub

Looking at the log, I see the following command just before the rug sub.

We have just started the process of upgrading our sles10 sp2 systems to
sles10 sp3.
We have a smt server with the SP2 catalogs mirrored. We added the
following SP3 catalogs.
SLES10-SP3-Online
SLES10-SP3-Pool
SLES10-SP3-Updates
We are looking at using the move to sles10 sp3 scrip
