I am running SLES 11 SP4 on System z and the kernel is 3.0.101-65-default.
According to several Google search results, zswap is available in the 3.11
kernel. I don't have a SLES 12 system so I can't tell what kernel is running
there.

Hello,
We are being tasked with changing the dns domain name portion of a machine's
host name.
That is, change foo.baldor.com to foo.baldor.abb.com.
Is this possible without scheduling an outage of our Linux farm?
Thanks,
Ron

Based on the lead-in to the article, this was intended for systems where CPU
and RAM are cheap, and I/O is very expensive. For the mainframe,
Hello,
We have a situation where we are being tasked with changing the dns domain
portion of a machine's hostname.
For example, we need to change foo.baldor.com to foo.baldor.abb.com.
Is this possible without a re-ipl?
Thanks.

This is a bit more technical: https://lwn.net/Articles/537422/
I wouldn't say experimental anymore, since it's been in the kernel since 3.7.
The reason I'm

Seems like this is experimental

I've never heard of it, so I suppose not. What is it?

You'll find them in the following
Does anybody know where to find the development sources for SLES12 SP1?
Specifically, I need the readline.h, prcre.h and openssl header files to build
Openresty.
Thanks

Hi!
Isn't zswap available for s390x? I can't find anything on either
SLES11 or SLES12.

I just checked in a RHEL6 we run, and I got a higher speed.
But also FIBRE instead of "Twisted Pair" :
# ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
Supported ports: [ FIBRE ]
Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
