To the SAP folks out there.

Our company is still in the process of assimilating workload from an
acquisition that we made in 2007. Most of that workload has been going
into our Production ECC system that has 2 batch servers, 3 S&D servers,
4 MMPP servers, a FICO server, and an IPP server. Over the years we
could tweak and adjust the server things to handle the additional workload.

It has now come to the point where the SAP Admin folks want to make the
S&D and the MMPP servers 16GB each. (These servers just run ABAP.
There is no java on these servers.)

I was wondering what size application servers the SAP out there run. Is
there a point where a SAP application server is too big? Has anyone hit it?

Should I try to steer the SAP Admin folks towards the idea that we
should make another application server?

Any ideas or comments?
