linux-cert members, FYI, out at LinuxWorld I spent a good bit of time talking with Brian Horakh, one of the founders of Digital Metrics. (http://www.digitalmetrics.com/) If you are not familiar with DM, they have been offering a web-based exam for Linux certification since earlier this year. There's a longer story to all this which we will spell out in some of the news releases and other publicity we will soon be doing, but the basic info is that the Board of Digital Metrics voted last week to merge their efforts into those of LPI. They have stopped certification exams and will be combining their efforts and information with our work. There are a whole bunch of details that we're still working on, but I do ask you all to please join with me in welcoming Brian and all the other Digital Metrics folks as they join in and contribute to our mailing lists and other efforts. We're extremely glad for their vote of confidence and their desire to avoid fragmentation of Linux certification. We look forward to working with all of them to build the best possible certification program that Linux deserves!
