Although it is not necessary to tell, as you all are Gurus of
Linux. Just as I visited the link given by Pankaj, I am prompted to
write it. I am running RH 5.2 on 3 P-II 350 machines (32MB RAM). These
are running DHCP, DNS, Mailserver, Apache + Jserv + SSL, Mysql, Firewall

Thank you Raj for guiding me. I installed egcs-1.1.2-24 from RH
6.1 CD and it installed gcc. Now the problem is that it has not
installed the header files in /usr/include. Some files are there but
most of them are missing. Please tell me which package I have not
installed.

or forcing anything, you can be assured that the package is
installed correctly. Well, that's exactly what rpm does for you. You can
double check all the files in the package (egcs-1.1.2-24.i386.rpm) against
the ones that really got installed ('rpm -ql egcs').

compiler (CC or GCC). I downloaded the latest gcc from Internet but how
to install it? It again needs some C compiler to compile! There is one

Whenever I try to access a cgi script by:
setuid Perl script works however.
