Happy New Year list!
I am new to the list and a first time user of FAI but a long time user of
Debian.
I have several machines comming in that have no floppy and the motherboard
doesn't support PXE boot.
I'm wondering if there is a script like make-fai-bootfloppy for usb
sticks?
If not, does
Hi all,
How do you tell FAI to use the rest of the disk?
I'm trying to get FAI to set up a software RAID and this is how I'm trying
to lay out my disks in /disk_config/FAIBASE
disk_config sda
primary - 2000
primary - 500
primary - 5000
logical - 1

I want to have the last logical partition use the remaining disk space,
is
this correct just 0- ?
Looks good, I am not sure if zero values work well, if not you might
do something like 10
blocks [2/2] [UU]
md1 : active raid1 sda2[0] sdb2[1]
489856 blocks [2/2] [UU]
md0 : active raid1 sda1[0] sdb1[1]
1951744 blocks [2/2] [UU]
Is this correct?
Thanks

Can FAI do Software RAID setups out of the box in version 3.1.4 (the
version currently in Debian Etch)?
I'm having a tough time trying to get this set this up after reading
through the manual and searching the web. I'm not finding much in the way
of HowTo's etc online.

Thanks for the info everyone, I got it fixed.
Besides removing this package you may want to comment out the following
lines in /srv/fai/config/scripts/FAIBASE/40-misc:
# { ${target}/etc/inittab
# ReplaceAll /sbin/getty 38400
# With /sbin/getty -f /etc/issue.linuxlogo
Where is /etc/issue created?
I have changed /srv/fai/nfsroot/etc/issue but after install it still says:
Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 \n \l
instead of showing the changes I've made?
How do I change /etc/issue?
Thanks
OK, to fix this I added these lines to /srv/fai/config/scripts/LAST/50-misc:
cp /etc/issue $target/etc/
cp /etc/issue.net $target/etc/
Thanks!

During the install there is a /var/log/fai/current directory? Right?
Do you have any ideas?

Hi all,
I'm trying to have the timezone set to EST after the install is complete
but it is always set to UTC.
I have changed the config/class/FAIBASE.var file and set the time_zone
values like this:
# Set UTC=yes if your system clock is set to UTC (GMT), and UTC=no if not.
UTC=no
OK,
i changed the time_zone variable to TIMEZONE=EST and it worked.
Thanks for the responses.
