Hello Thomas,

Thanks for your help. I was using the jessie repository, so it might be
the issue.

In the "Install the FAI packages" section, jessie is referenced. Is this
correct, or should it be stretch. My FAI server is based on Debian
Stretch, not Jessie.

Which FAI version are you using? Wheich kernel version? What's the
output of
cat /proc/cmdline

I guess you are using some old kernel cmdline parameters (for
e.g. aufs) with a 4.x kernel, which needs the option rootovl instead.
