MTU on ADSL

Sorry to interrupt the off topic argument with a real question... The HOW-TO doesn't clearly specify what MTU should I set on my Linux cards. I'm using a 2 network card setup (one for the internal network and a second for the ADSL modem). What is the recommended MTU for each? The HOW-TO says:
