I suppose that both sides are to blame in this.  The boy enjoys the sexy
girl's attention while he is installing Linux on her machine but only
until he finishes installation.  If he tells her to RTFM, she'll lavish
her charming attention on the document rather than on him.  Useless to
remind the attention-starved boy that she is interested only in his
Linux-installing capability rather than in his person.

And the other side of the coin is the woman, who prefers to depend upon
the males around her rather than tackle the problems (not necessarily
Linux ones; in university settings, there are lots of difficult problems,
mostly in homework and exams) by herself.  I didn't figure out if this is
usually due to low self-confidence or due to laziness.
