AFAIK the x86-64 Debian (AKA ) Sarge is still considered Beta. As far as I remember, I didn't make it into the latest Sarge release. (I may be wrong, though) As for the x86-64 performance increase, well, it depends on the type of software used. x86-64 can be slower then 32bit (due to the added
