I have 2 machines at home: 1 Linux machine and 1 Windows machine.

You probably have the reverse dns lookup problem. The Linux machine tries
to reverse lookup the 10.0.0.2 address, but since you are not connected to
the Internet it waits till timeout.
Try to disable reverse lookup.
