Indeed it looks like xml file. but on the web site they publish excel xls
file and it is saved on the hd as xls.
I have open office 3.0 at home and it couldn't read it normally. The
portable openoffice that I use now is 3.0.0 and it doesn't read it normally
unless i use the workaround mentioned
I will download the file from Orange next week, I just cannot get to
it in the next few days.

I am trying to view in open office calc xls files that were downloaded from
orange web site bill4u. When I try to open it, it asks me which Character
set to select. I tried a couple of character sets, but all I end up with is
xml tags without the data that I need.
