Do 2 simple tests: 1. comment (#) all your fonts 2. try to run just X - not startx 3. remove any .X files you got (.Xsessions, etc..) If 2 works, then you have problems with fonts.. if after that you have problem - re-install your X server from your package. Hetz On Sunday 15 April 2001
