I now managed to get both
rpm -bc /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/mailx.spec
and
rpm -bi /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/mailx.spec
to execute without errors.
But
/var/tmp/mailx-root/bin/mail
is identical to
/bin/mail
What am I missing _now_?
Thanks
Dorit
Hi All,
I would like to inform the members of the list of the upcoming Linux

and it will start at around 9:00am till we simply either drop to the
ground, or the CD's run out on us.
It will be held at the Rifkin
Hi All,
Here's a tricky one for your troubled brains :-)
I have a linux cluster running beowolf, now everything works fine, only
one thing is weird. About a week ago, the following situation evolved by
itself. One of the users is compiling a program on the main machine, lets
call it cluster1,
Hi,
I'm looking for information on backing up multiple linux machines using
one central "backup server". Due to the volume of data, NFS mounting
the file systems and then backing them up as if they were local will NOT
do.
The backup server does not have to be linux (although I would prefer it
You may try Arcserve (although the server is not Unix based) - but it
got Linux client.
Backupexec - same as Arcserve (although I don't trust it as Arcserve).

If you're looking for a full backup solution (daily backups, indexing,
etc ..), I'd try amanda, at www.amanda.org.
They did a very good job --- especially for multi platform clients.

Thanks to help from Yoni Elhanani and Oleg Goldshmidt I've compile my
RedHat 6.0 Kernel to include SCSI-ide emulation - first time for a
newbie so thanks for the advice.
But, when I run cdrecord -scanbus I get a message that no targets are
availabel. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here ?
Shlomo,
The log messages indicate that both the ide-cd and the ide-scsi
drivers were compiled into the kernel.
When both drivers are available to the kernel, a higher priority
is given to the ide-cd driver over the ide-scsi driver, and it
gets to "own" the device.
To solve this, you can
I finally got hold of the person in charge of
/etc/sendmail.cf
After I explained the problem (again! ) he said
Great, then there's no problem because everything works just like
it should. Internally, there's no reason to use the fully qualified
domain name.
At this point I see no other option

Their support doesn't exist, as usual. To add insult to injury,
Hi,

to work. The only problem is that I have NO IDEA as how to use the plenty
of command line utils included ...
BTW, the linux client should be
