Sorry about the question, but from what version did you upgrade?
You can also use the first CD Rescue mode, use ldd on the affected
applications and see what you can install (using rpm -qf problematic
application) in order to fix this issue.

implementation might come in handy.

Well, if I rememeber correctly, the other Logitech offers (who also
costs half), are supported under Linux, but from my experience, the
video quality leaves much to be desired.
