not a win modem (it got a DSP built in), but you have to fiddle with ISAPNP

gnome (I think it's 1.0.8) got support for KDE menu's so (as much as I
understand - I'm not using Gnome) you'll be able to use and convert on the fly
your KDE menus so they can appear on the Gnome menus..

I think you can ask one of the CD Manufacturers like CDI in Carmiel which can
create a minimum of 200 copies (ok, you can argue with them)...

I would take this hard disk to another Linux machine and boot from a
working station (after I connect the bad hard disk to that machine as a
slave or a a 2nd disk), then I would run fsck...

If you're going to use GPL'ed software and you're going to
incorporate/modify the code - then you MUST publish you modifications.
You CANNOT hide your modifications and you MUST publish the source
code..
I would not recommend to play a game with GPL'ed software -
