how does one change the desktop area and Refresh frequency colour pallette
in caldera Linux .
can one do it from kde.

If you are in KDE, open a terminal, type 'switchdesk-kde' and select GNOME.
Press OK. Exit X and restart it...

Go to that directory and run one of
on console (xserver should't be running) write "xinit "
then u can execute the window manager of ur choice e.g
fvwm,afterstep,lestiff,twm ,nextstep etc only after starting xinit u have
to write
exec window-managername
