COPY is already supported on the client side, so a call to copy_file_range() on a recent client should now result in a server-side copy that doesn't require all the data to make a round trip to the client and back. Jeff Layton implemented callbacks to notify clients when contended locks become available, which should reduce latency on workloads with contended locks.
