It is the console I am using, and the ctrl-6 combinations worked.
Thanks.

I find that since upgrading to dosemu-1.2.1 I can not access F11 and F12
in MegaDots, a program for braille translation and formatting. When I try
F11 or F12 in this program, it complains about that macro not existing. Is
this a known program and is there something I can do about it?
Thanks.

I've just installed the debian dosemu package for dosemu-1.2.1. It seems
to be working, but I see no place in the /etc/dosemu/dosemu.conf for the
three-letter extention for the autoexec file; I see this for the .ini and
the config.sys file. How can I make sure that my autoexec file is the one
Ok, thank you, that makes some sense. I was always careful what file I
edited, though I do remember some confusion when I first started. I didn't
personally have anything that didn't work this way, but probably better
not to have it if that could happen.

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed; looked in the archives but
didn't see it.
I'm running an old version of dosemu: 1.1.3.
My problem is that while it
starts ok with the 2.6.5 kernel, when I try to run some (but not all
programs) I get the following in my boot.log and dosemu immediately
I'm trying to decide whether I want to try the newest version of dosemu. I'm
happy with my present setup except that I have a program that needs control
characters that dosemu can't handle. for instance, there's a menu that needs
control-i; there are others but that's the one I can think of right
Hey, anybody know if dosemu.org is down and when it may be back?
I can't access it with ftp or http. I've been trying on and off since yesterday
afternoon.

Hmm!
Could it have to do with how your permissions are set on /dev/ttyS1?

Hi Bart and all!
Then what do we need to change in the dosemu.conf 9I assume that would be where
the change would be made0 to activate this?
Thanks.

Hi all!
Per my other post on this subject, it appears that sg0 and sg1 aren't even
getting used. When I run debugging I get:
CONF: aspi device sg0 not available
CONF: aspi device sg1 not available
CONF: config variable c_system unset
CONF: not enough privilege to define config variable c_user

John: it is my understanding that you aren't supposed to use the whole partition
in your hdimage, although that should work. You are supposed to make a link in
dosemu, at the same level as freedos, or convert freedos, one of the two. You
also don't want to run dosemu from a bunch of different
Hi John and all!
I am running dosemu with a 2.4.18 kernel with no problem, so while a problem
might have occurred when somebody upgraded to a 2.4 kernel, having a 2.4 kernel
should not in and of itself be a problem.

Having compiled the 1.1.3 version of dosemu, I find that the serial ports are
accessed with no problem.
The one catch turns out to be that brltty, the braille screen reader package
(also some speech support) I use with linux, is stopped dead in its tracks, I
assume during the initialization
Ok, as for the 1.3.1 package, ... well, I can't find it now, but I sear it was
there. will let you know if/when i find it again.
As for versions, I am now a bit confused.

Hi all! Thanks to those who have tried to help.
I am wondering about the versions of dosemu. Somebody suggested I use
dosemu-1.1.3. However, while i did find a redhat package with this version
number, I am using debian. My present version is 1.0.2, and this also appears to
be the latest stable
