No, I am sorry. Never seen this. What about termination and the other
things? I think you should send your question also to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (if you haven't done yet); those guys are
writing scsi drivers and have much more experiences (of course).

Will Linux allow level 1 raid to be two partitions on the same disk?
I know this is not something any sane person would do, but for the dake of
exper-menting I would like to know.
I attempted it, but I get mkraid: aborted after trying it. Don't know if
my config is wrong.

Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if someone could help me trouble shoot the following
problems I am currently having in creating a RAID1 array.
First, I've configured, compiled and correctly installed linux-2.2.12
with the raid014519990824 patch. In addition, I am also using raidtools

I get the following message after doing mkraid /dev/md0
handling MD device /dev/md0
analyzing super-block
disk 0: /dev/sda1, 24066kB, raid superblock at 24000kB
/dev/sda1 is mounted
mkraid: aborted, see the syslog and /proc/mdstat for potential clues.
I am a little confused about how to set up
Hello everybody,
due to the fact that I'm new in the group, let me put a propably silly
question:
- Will raidtools 0.90 work any longer with Kernel 2.3.x?
- Are there propably some whitepapers of the authors somewhere?
Thank you for your answers.
Best regards

I have three Segate 6GB ATA66 Harddrives, two of which are hanging

RedHat 6.1's stock 2.2.12 kernel with raidtools already installed.
It works fine, a disk failed last weekend and I was able to recover
that disk while the array continued to function.
My question is this: Is it too late to run
Thanks,
so I should be able to do the following without loss to date right?
1. umount /dev/md0
2. raidstop /dev/md0
3. change partition types on /dev/sda5 and /dev/sdb5 to fd (was linux)
4. raidstart /dev/md0

Hi,
I've created mirrored striped arrays (Raid10) and am not confident that
my first striped set is in fact being mirrored on my second striped set.
When the mirrored mdX devices are created, cat /proc/mdstat does show
that re-synching is taking place. However, if I mount an mdX that is

I just wanted to thank you for putting together a *great* quick guide.
I'm working on stuff like this myself for our user group we've just
gotten started and I want to tell you what a time saver you have been.
