What I did was perhaps a bit harder to test in a VM. My situation was that I had a separate disk (one big partition) mounted as /var/lib/mythtv, and a separate partition mounted at /var/lib/mythtv/videos. The installation of mythbuntu 12.04 preserved my /etc/fstab, including these mounts, but
