The Imported Image length setting in the preferences has a minimum limit
of 1 second. It should be allowed to go to 0.1 or smaller, to make time
lapse videos easier to produce, when used in combination with the 'Add
To Timeline' feature.

yeh i've got the same problem... always hangs after pressing next on the
remote control selection page...

far for stability
i suggest to wait until new gnome-shell 3.2 is out, to check if is a
