Hi,

I though about your problem. Maybe you have a chance to get data by
doing some changes in the VIN_REG1.
Have a look at VSNC_POL, HSNC_POL and VCLK_POL to match the bt829.

My second idea was: Do you use the correct output format of the bt829?
It must be 16bit 422 to run with the usbvision driver.

You wrote about writing an integrated driver. I think this is not a good
idea. I prefer to have one usbvision driver for the nogatech chips that
loads the driver for the videocodec it needs. That was saa7111-new for
all devices I know and it could be a bt829 driver for your device. The
bt829 has an i2c interface similar to the saa7111 ones as the datasheet
says. 
Can you try to write a bt829 driver?
