I'm using the rtl8150 driver for a Linksys USB100M Ethernet device on an iMac, kernel 2.4.20-pre7-ben0. The rtl8150 driver in my tree is labeled "v0.4.1 (2002/07/22)", but I have another from pegasus2.sf.net labeled "v0.5.4 (2002/04/11)". The one with the higher version has an earlier date, but seems to be missing 2.4 kernel USB calls (usb_ctrlrequest is devrequest).
Anyway, the v0.4.1 that comes with Ben Herrenschmidt's kernel tree compiles and loads, and I can transmit packets to other machines. The problem is data is never received. read_bulk_callback is never called; no warnings or errors are logged. I'm not much of a kernel hacker, but since this iMac's internal Ethernet is fried, USB Ethernet is probably my only solution.
