A while ago I posted a patch which added SIGIO to the allowed signals for urb
completion (in
addition to the RT signals). I did this because it allows me to do asynchronous urb
completion in
the user-mode linux hcd. Can this be included in the kernel or are there any problems?
At the moment the uml hcd simulates interrupt requests with bulk request. My
understanding from usb
says this requires much more bandwidth. It would be far more efficient (not to mention
cleaner) when
this could be avoided. A while ago a patch was submitted to add interrupt support to
usbdevfs. Are
there any problems with this patch or can this be included too?
