There seems to be a lot of interest in USB OTG lately, and I thought I'd pass on something I saw recently that looked interesting:
http://www.atmel.com/dyn/corporate/view_detail.asp?FileName=AT90USB1287_2_14.html That's a press release (with links to chip specs). Notice that $40 USB-OTG "AT90USBKEY" (in April?). It looks to be a good platform for prototyping open source peripherals(*) that talk to Linux ... or learning low level USB stuff, including OTG, without needing an embedded Linux setup. Note this is the 8-bit AVR; you can't run Linux on it, but GCC handles it nicely, and flash programmers like "avrdude" support all-Linux development environments. For those with allergies: it's not 8051-like. :) - Dave (*) One mentioned on this list: http://www.harbaum.org/till/lcd2usb/ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
