Hi ! I just recompiled kernel 2.4.11 and I realized the module for CD-Writers HP 82xx was available, and I installed it as well, I have such device but I have no idea of how to make it work. Could someone please give me some hints of how to do that or point to somewhere I can find out?? Than

Hi John, I have used this printer with cups and possibly samba (but that would have been from a samba client). I had no problems. It sounds like your problem is a printer problem but something deeper (motherboard, bad cable, bios, etc). I can't remember what kernel you said you were using,

John I don't know exactly what is causing your problem but, considering the process of elemination I'll tell you this : I also have exactly the same printer running on USB since Sept of last year. I have not had a single problem with it, text or photo. I'm using Red Hat 7.1 with a 2.4.6 kernel
