I successfully compliled 2.2.16 kernel(an old kernel) after fighting with it 16 hours.
but, my machine can not pass "checking for the new hardware" while booting, say, machine down there.
Actually, I've ever complied 2.2.18 kernel the other days, it works well so far.
Appreciate any advice.
