Thanks a lot for your prompt response. I will try to compiling a vanilla kernel for both 2.6.20, and 2.6.21, and will post the results. I also managed to find a simple solution to get the hard disk detected. A simple "lsusb" command was enough to rescan the USB bus, and get the drive reco
