I've found a solution, going to upgrade to ubuntu 8.04, as I'm still on
Fiesty Fawn, time for an upgrade anyway! :-).
Even starting totally from scratch with a new user didn't help..

You'll also need to set that one up to be a gateway, or it won't forward
anything.
