During install, don't create a new user, just the root account.

Find out what values are used for UID, and what name/GID is used for your
group.  If necessary, create the group account with the appropriate GID,
then the user account with the appropriate UID.  This can be done either
from the command line (useradd permits you to specify the UID, ditto for
groupadd) or use webmin.
