I had the same problem -- but it turned out that the problem was that I
had the camera plugged into a blue usb port. What is the color of your
USB port?
More seriously, it appears that the C910 (in particular) has problems
with USB 3.0 ports (at least on my Lenovo laptop). I now can't recall
