2011-03-23 Thread Robert Echlin
Hi Robert,
Info for your friend.
The Ottawa Android group is a friendly bunch. He can contact them at the
following links. They meet at The Code Factory on the third Thursday of each
month:
- http://ottawaandroid.ca/

My review of a recent meeting is here:

a friend wants to get into android programming and wants a simple
platform that allows him to download and rebuild the android source,
as well as write and run new android apps.  i've never used an android
tablet so i have no advice.

  he pointed me at this:

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=19180Sku=A685-0068RBcm_re=Homepage-_-Spot%2001-_-CatId_6838_A685-0068RB

but i have no clue if that will do what he wants.  thoughts?  anyone
out there doing this and can recommend a cheap android developer
platform for someone who wants to get started?  thanks.

which is why i'm open to alternative suggestions, particularly from
people actually *doing* this sort of thing.
