Hi list, I received a particular email from a certain company claiming to do research on "people who use linux". It's ok to do "research" but what got my attention was this particular line:
>It would be grest if you could give us some time of your`s.We assure >you that you will not be told to buy anything ....it is just a pure >research for about an hour ...we will be giving you a gift for >attending this group. What "gift" ? "not be told to buy anything" ? Hmm...that seems quite suspicious. From when did *anyone*, in Mumbai, become so benevolent to give out free gifts? I used to receive several telephone calls where I would be invited to a "meeting" for an "hour" at the end of which we would get "gifts". I never attended one but I know they are scams or stupid marketing gimmicks. Apart from that, there are several spelling mistakes, no professional tone and the email is quite sloppily drafted.
