*Minutes of January GLUG-Meet @ Five Gardens*

The GNU/Linux Users Group of Mumbai held its January GLUG meet on 14th
January 2006 at Five Gardens, Matunga. This meet was attended by about

This meet was much more interactive and more issues were discussed
than it would have been possible in a classroom like environment.

Following discussions were held.

* Pradeepto demoed the KDE india T-Shirt logo and was wondering wether
the swirls in tricolor were voilating the national flag code.

* GPLv3 and its implications on software developers and users. Why
patenting of software is a so dangerous and how it kills innovation.

* Rony Bill raised some of the issues faced by hardware vendors while
providing service to customers. The biggest problem faced by vendors
is lack of person who are ready to experiment with something new. The
Mumbai GLUG plans to conduct awareness workshops especially suited to
hardware vendors/retailers, cyber cafe operators, jr-college students
etc. Please get in touch with the list if you can help us in any
respect.
