[ILUG-BOM] Mouse Configuration in Fedora Core4

Hi,
FC4 installed finally but not without hiccups. I will not mention some weird 
things 
that I bumped into during installation.
Now I'm stuck with a detected mouse, which is non-operational. I see a pointer 
at 
the center of the screen but it won't move from there. I used the keyboard 
during 
the entire installation process.
 
This mouse was detected by some other distros of Linux earlier so the H/w is ok.
I tried /usr/bin/mouseconfig - Shutting down console mouse services fails.
next I get an error message stating Failed to set line discipline ..
 
As always, Help me !!!
