I suggest keeping asm code untouched, the change for c code is much easier to 
understand, however I do not see obvious advantage to remove one redundant 
function parameter :)

I suggest keeping asm code untouched, the change for c code is much easier to 
understand, however I do not see obvious advantage to remove one redundant 
function parameter :)

This is acceptable, asm code is an independent patch, is to provide 
convenience for this operation.
